Johannes Schaedlich (born in 1957; Bad Sachsa/Germany) is bassist (on both double bass and electric), composer and teacher; professionally working since the beginning of the eighties.
- 1964 first lessons on violin; picked up the electric bass in 1972. - Since 1978 studies and workshops a. o. with Adelhard Roidinger, Peter Bockius, Sigi Busch, Arild Andersen, Paul Imm. - Classical studies at Musikhochschule in Karlsruhe and Mannheim, started 1980), Jazz studies with S. Busch at Musikhochschule in Hamburg (started 1982).
- Worked with Lee Konitz, Enrico Pieranunzi, Bobby Shew, Adam Nussbaum, Hal Galper, Doug Raney, Tony Lakatos, Keith Copeland, Louis Stewart, Phil Abraham, Glen Miller Big Band NL, Imre Köszegy, Pony Poindexter, Peter Kosch, Georg Ruby, Joe Haider, Wolfgang Lauth, Leszek Zadlo, Peter Decker, Gerd Dudek, Frank Wunsch, Zbigniew Namyslowski, Piotr Baron, John Stowell, Wolfgang Engstfeld, Francois Chassagnitte, Toumani Diabaté, Tomasz Szukalski, Habib Koité, Artur Dudkiewicz, Joe Gallardo, Christoph Spendel, Royce Campbell, Pete York, Lauren Newton, Jeanette McLeod, Maria Joao, Özay, Nicole Metzger, Eva Mayerhofer and many others.

- Appeared on festivals in San Sebastian, Luzern, Wien, Heidelberg, Leverkusen, Vannes (Frankreich), Mannheim, St. Ingbert and many others. - Toured USA, France, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, 1991 Tour to Russia and Kyrgyzstan. Toured 2003 for Goethe-Institute through eight West African Countries (from Senegal to Cameroon) with various bands.
- „Best Foreign Band“-Award at young musicians competition on „JAZZALDIA“-Festival 1987 San Sebastian (Spain); „Outstanding Musicians Award“ at „International Jazz Workshop“ Trier (Germany); first award at the „Jazz Soloist Competition Rheinland-Pfalz (Germany)“ 1989
- Leading own „modern contemporary“ jazz projects („Johannes Schaedlich Group“): f. i. a German-Polish Jazz Quartet; currently a Trio with Pianist Rainer Böhm and Drummer Oliver Strauch.
- Lecturer on Workshops in Poland, the Czech Republic and in Germany
- Member of Juries at Jazz Competitions of German Federal States Rheinland/Pfalz and Hessen.
