Sigi founded the Powerstation as his first own group in 1986.
Their LP (Vinyl) release "Nil" (with guest Wolfgang Puschnig) in 1988 led to festival performances in Montreux and Leverkusen 1989.
1991 Powerstation published their 2nd album "Voyeur, Voyeur" - this time featuring Italian trumpet star Enrico Rava. He also appeared on the 1993
release "Special Station" together with John Abercrombie, Ed Schuller and Wolfgang Reisinger.
While the band was based in acoustic music in the beginning it developped
step by step to an electric band.
The line-up for the last years were Sigi, Paul Urbanek (keys), Robert Riegler (bass) and Herbert Reisinger (drums). 1997 Sigi stopped the band since he started working with African musicians.
